Better components will always mean better bike and a full suspension that is cheap is worse than not having one IMO. I would feel safer on my relatively low end, but fully upgraded, Trek than a FS sub $200 Mongoose any day. I've seen parts come off of a Mongoose XR something when someonetried to take it off 3 stairs, the same ones I ride up and down everyday and my bike is 4 years old.

OP said durable and comfortable and that does not equal Wal-mart bike.
