Scott can put a new derailleur hanger on if you damage it, and the chances of that are pretty low (only 1 of around a dozen CR1 riders I know have damaged theirs in the last 4 years) - certainly not a deal breaker for me. Still loving my CR1 (2006 SL)!
Try this and never have to worry about it:
DERAILLEUR PIVOT BOLT 
The bolt will break instead of bending or breaking the hanger.
