i'm just surprised that a small college a ways from anywhere would be a good candidate for bike theft. there's not a lot of nice stuff around, and it wouldn't really be worth the while. i haven't ever locked it around campus, because i felt that anyone coming to really steal bikes would be able to get it reguardless. cheap cable locks are the only necessary protection here. the bike rack is unprotected from the weather, but the overhang of the building doesn't have anywhere to lock to.
