Just for giggles I had taken the Silvers off the pods to see if some Shimano 600's would work and they did. I also tried a set of Suntour shifters that were bottom of the barrel stem mounted shifters that did not work because of the size of the barrel on them. I read somewhere that stem mounted shifters usually have a bigger barrel to make up for the extra cable needed to run them. I could be wrong about that though.
So in short.....I think yours will work because they are newer downtube shifters (small barrel and will go on just about any downtube shifter boss that I know of). I don't see a problem. If they don't work and you decide to buy the Silvers I am sure they will make you happy.....The silvers were the nicest feeling friction shifters I have tried. The finish is nice too.
