How has the carbon fared over the years? Specifically the rim area that makes contact with the brake pads?
Just fine. As you may expect, they haven't been used as daily riders or anything, but early on I bought some Zipp carbon brakes pads (which kind of suck for stopping), and I never saw any wear on the sidewalls.
