1.125 threaded stems are pretty obscure and none are really that great... my Trek 7500 has one and I was lucky to have some NOS DX 1.125 threaded headsets to replace the old one and used the adjustable stem the bike came with.

As a light touring bike having some adjust ability is a good thing

You can also get threaded to thread-less converters if you want to retain your fork and use a modern stem.
