I was in Amsterdam for a few days a couple of months back. I saw literally thousands of bikes, and I never saw a single racing-style bike. In fact, I didn't see a single bike with drop bars. It is a different bike-culture there for sure. I wish I had taken a picture outside the central train station. There were hundreds of bikes locked up outside. People there use bikes for utility and transportation, not as a piece of sporting equipment.
