Okay, here are some "after" photos of the Peugeot I picked up last week at the "Transfer Station" (aka "Dump"). It's a shame it was tossed on the scrap metal pile, because it picked up a couple dents and some scratches . It looks like it hung in a garage for a VERY long time. When I opened up the BB and hubs, the substance I found inside more closely resembled dried strawberry jam than grease. The hub races have a permanent discoloration pattern because the ball bearings sat in the same spot for so long. The bike looks pretty much the same on the outside because I mainly wanted it rideable and didn't want to spend too much time buffing it. It's scratched and dented and was free, after all. I just want it to function. The new bar tape is a bit of extravagance for me, my only expense on the bike. I put on some aero levers, an old Avocet Touring saddle (keeping it "French" although the saddle is probably made in China) and put on my SPD "campus" pedals so it's more versatile. I also found while cleaning it up what looks like an original inventory sticker with the SN and Model# PGN10M60 (PGN10, Mens, 60cm). Cool!
