Thanks for doing the experiment! Be aware though that the Series 2 hoop isn't as advanced a grade of steel as on the Evo's.
This afternoon I bought an Evo Mini. The LBS had both the Evo and Series 2 Minis. I didn't get to try swapping parts, but I did notice that the packaging for both claimed an 8.3cm width.
Now to get a
second Evo Mini that's keyed alike, if they still offer that possibility, ... and a Series 2 ...
