Aerospokes are very nearly unbreakable. However, they are heavy and not very aerodynamic. It's what I use, though, for anything except a race or high-altitude, long-distance climbing. I never, ever, have to worry about breaking a spoke, because they don't have any. They are pothole resistant.
I have friends (I think they are friends...) who think 200K is a good warmup. Most of them are frail, starved, wimpy people who don't have to worry about breaking spokes much. When I do these rides with them, I want equipment that won't let me down hours away from the cars.
