A little further examination of the catalog makes this even more interesting. It is definitely a 1977 Grand Prix, they marketed two mixte bikes that year, the Grand Prix and Record Limited which were certainly the same frame. Both were 20-30 tubing, but each with a kickstand plate spec'd on the frame. This has no kickstand plate and the serial # would date it as produced at Worksop in June of 1976. Perhaps they produced some mixte's to be sold as Super Course and decided against marketing a ladies model, and just used the resulting frames with the rest of the Grand Prix production. But there is one thing that is certain--
I officially have too much time on my hands! I'm going to quit thinking about it and enjoy it.
