How on ebay does this buyitnow or best offer work? Is a later offerer given any response that their offer is not as much as the prior one? How long are these listings good for? I did not see an end date, but I have not used ebay at all since they changed the graphic layout, maybe I am just missing it.
The seller has a certain amount of time to consider the offer (I believe two days). If it's accepted, the bidder is obligated to buy. Last time I submitted a best offer, there was an automatic acceptance generated and I won the item, which I believe might be a new option for sellers - if you meet a certain price, it triggers an auto response. Later offers are not privvy to prior ones. If someone hits Buy It Now, the item is sold and the best offers are null. The one current offer on the Confente was declined and was from a bidder with 902 feedbacks, so I'm pretty sure that rules Joe out. Store items used to have a "shelf life," but I don't see one for that item either, so maybe it sits indefinitely, I don't know.
