The whole point is you don't take it off your wrist. The key is right there in your hand ready to go as soon as you step off the bike.
The other big plus is that you rarely forget/lose your key cause its pretty obvious when its missing.
my point was that it's still just as fast...
plus my pants rattle so ditto for the missing keys...
my biggest complaint about wrist straps tho is that the few times i've worn one, the key gets between my hand and the handle bar almost immediately...
