Thanks Neal, I've not realy found any difinitive evidence to the contrary, either. I think the wheels that were in installed when it came into my possession are 700c, but for whatever reason, I can't find markings anywhere on them that confirm that to be the case.

In any event, a little extra clearance couldn't hurt.
