Ah I need to update my sig. I actually sold the Fuji a little while ago and bought a Jamis Quest which I love. It's a steel road bike very similar to my Sputnik but w/ gears. It's nice b/c I switch b/w the two and can hardly tell I'm on a diff. bike other than the drivetrain.

The Fuji was an alright bike. Mine was a bit too small for me, though. Keep in mind they are measured c-t on the seat tube. Also, I had some problems w/ the BB/crank. Squeaking/creaking and the crankarm cam loose one time. Anyways, I think it's just as good as any other bike in that price range.

Also, check out bikesdirect. There is a Mercier steel bike w/ CF fork and 105 that would probably be nice.

Definitely go geared. I love SS/FG, but for longer rides geared is completely superior. besides, what's the point of having 2 of the same bikes? Maybe if you have like 10 bikes it would be cool to have a few FG bikes, but if you only have 2 you need to diversify
