The 7-Eleven women's team rode 170's, not the men's team.
Trek's used to be very underrated. Now they're on the verge of being overpriced in some cases. They don't all have the same mojo, IMO. The early hand silver brazed ones and some of the later top end ones are more special. Others were not handbuilt (automated brazing) and used plug-in contruction or lugs that were cast into the headtube piece. They all tend to perform well and were well designed.
