I was out on the left coast for vacation last month. It was when Portland was doing it's impression of phoenix, well, phoenix in april, maybe. Anyway, yeah, 95 is freaking hot, but, it's a dry 95 which is wayyyyyy nicer than what we've had the last week which is high 80s, low 90s and ridiculous humidity. If the humidity level was any higher, you'd drown.
As for perfect bike weather, I think I would go with san fran. It's pretty much 65 degrees everyday of the year, cept maybe in the summer when it drops to 63.
