I think it's very easy to get caught up in the helmet fashion show, but if you really think about it, the helmet's aesthetics should be the least priority on the list.

Why?

1- the helmet is atop your dome while riding and out of site of your eyes unless you pass a mirror
2- you'll be in motion so even though ppl may laugh at you for wearing an ugly helmet that makes you look "stupid", you'll be out of earshot in a few seconds and can continue on your ride
3- a comfortable helmet (good fit and well ventilated for the summer) is more important than how pretty your helmet looks
4- it's not a haircut, so all you have to do is take it off once you get off your bike
5- you usually pay more $ for the better looking helmets
6- you usually can find decent deals on helmets that look ugly since no one wants to look like a fool with it, that includes ugly colors as well
