Bikes: We own a Santana Arriva S+S pulling a Burley Nomad, Qty 2 70's Raleighs updated, C-dale hybrid, Fuji hybrid

I assume that the drive side threading of the BB is LH thread. If that's the case then one possibility is that the frame is Swiss threading.

I quote Sheldon Brown from his Bicycle Glossary where he talks about interchangeability

"35 mm = 1.378". Shell is slightly larger, thread pitch slightly finer. May seem to fit, but will be loose."
