When I first got bibs I was actually wearing jersey on top of those but pretty soon discovered what happens when the nature calls on a long ride and you urgently have to remove that jersey and it clings to a sweaty skin like crazy.. So those are my "practical reasons" for wearing it this way. As for reaching into back pockets ... Well, my keys, wallet and phone are in a
tiny fanny pack so I do not really need those pockets. Almost forgot, I do not shave my legs either.
Well, wearing your bib shorts on top of your jersey is the least of your concerns, apparently. Under these circumstances, I can't imagine that we'd be able to change your mind. You just posted this to be contrarian, didn't you?

Yeah, yeah, none of that guy's business, but he has a point.
