It sounds wack, but WD40 always works perfectly. For real. Just a little spray on your bars, slide the grip on, let sit for a few minutes and they'll be on there like they're glued.

You wouldn't think a lubricant would be good for holding grips on but it's got something to do with the way WD40 reacts to rubber (or something) that makes it sticky.
