Double straps vs cages

I was just wondering what some of the advantages would be to running a double strap instead of a cage. Right now I'm riding steel clips with my GR-9s but I've been seeing straps a lot more and was maybe thinking about getting a set just to try them out. I know that Mash has the SAG collab on their site for 79 bucks and I've heard Toshi doubles are good, not too sure of anything else.

I've just noticed that in some of the videos on the Mash and Charge sites and even a bunch of different fixed gear vids on youtube that a some guys are riding double straps instead of a cage/clip and was just wondering if anyone had any input on their preference and why. Also, I thought you ran the double strap with the clip (just as you would a single), but I've been seeing people with just the double, so it got me a little confused. Thanks. (Sorry if this was long winded and doesn't make too much sense, just woke up)
