I haven't used a pump on the road for years but I don't get very many flats so I'm probably not the best person to ask. I even stopped carrying a pump on my tandem because it seemed redundant. I still carry an HPX on one of my bikes. It's been so long since I've used it that I should probably check to make sure that it still works.
