It seems like they make a similar shoe today, but market them as "spinning shoes" or "indoor cycling shoes"
That being said, they seem to me to be pretty much like mountain bike shoes, except that you can't put cleats on them!
After riding with clipless pedals and shoes for the past couple years, I don't think I could seriously ride in sneakers again, but I would like to use the pedals and straps that are on my C&V build nearing completion, so I think I'm going to get a nice pair of MTB shoes and just not put cleats on them.
