Continuing in my vein of holes in the ground, here are pictures from a trip to the Picketwire Dinosaur trackway in southeastern Colorado

Purgatory River Canyon (aka Picketwire Canyon)

Petroglyphs along the trail. This is one of about 5 horned lizard features at this site

The reason I go down there. Sauropod tracks (likely apatosaurs) from 150 million years ago. A nice day on the beach. There are several parallel tracks to these two sets indicating herding behavior.

Coming down one of two climbs in the canyon. The last one (back to camp is a killer)

Just to show that there are no mountains out here

An American Pronghorn doe from the above picture. She was scooting along at about 40 mph at this point.
