You know, that is one piece of utter stupidity.

I can understand why mountaineers do it, they spend much of their lives climbing every mtn they can.

But as an exercise in macho tourism it's just plain dumb.

The basic rule of the upper middle class is that they have to differentiate themselves from the great unwashed masses. Sensibility and functionality
count for little in the face of this imperative.

If you want a real challenge, and one that makes sense in terms of who you are, become a Nut of Ventoux. far fewer can pull that off than can slog up Everest with
a 100 people doing the real work.
