This is a 1991 Bridgestone MB-3 MTB converted for road use with 26 X 1.25 Panaracer Pasela TG tires, a Sugino Mighty Comp double crankset with 42-53 Stronglight 107 chainrings, ESGE (SKS) fenders, Cateye halogen headlight and Trek flashing LED taillight. The only others mods I made were to shorten the bars 1.5" overall, install left/right ergo grips and upgrade the front brakes to Deore XT. The pedals are Shimano PD-M737, which are early vintage SPD MTB style double-sided clipless. I use this bike for all weather day and night urban riding and day touring. Although I don't use it for commuting (I'm retired), I do think it would make an excellent commuter bike. It weighs about 26 lbs as shown in the photo. The casette is a 12-28 7-speed, which gives me a 39 to 115 gear range based on a 26" tire size.
