Then don't ride near doors. It isn't that difficult to prevent dooring. Dooring can literally kill you if a bus runs over you. The way I see it, any place where doors are that close usually have lower speed limits. Just take the lane and be done with it. Who cares about everyone else behind you? If there is a bike lane or sharrows in the door zone, don't ride in it.
