Thanks for your note. The "Nessuno" frameset you see listed on my pages is a
model that was commissioned by California distributor Euro-Asia Imports.
When the first of these frames arrived in the US, I brought in a sample and
hurriedly built one up with a dog's-dinner of parts that were conveniently
at hand. I liked pretty much everything about the frame except for what I regarded as a
somewhat lame model name they had assigned to it (Bareknuckle).
I took some pix of the bike I built up to accompany the web page I was
putting together, and during the construction of the page was fooling around
with fonts and other html whatnots and jokingly called it "Nessuno" (Italian
for no one) since the frame comes with no identifying decals apart from a tubing sticker. I liked
the result much better than calling it "Bareknuckle" and have left it that way.
Subsequently, even Euro-Asia took note of what I'd done and wrote to thank
me for including "Nessuno" in the roster of frames on my pages so I assume
they offer no serious objection.
There is no humbug involved here--those who've made serious inquiry here
about the frames are invariably apprised of the origins of the name
"Nessuno". I just can't get enthusiastic about promoting it as a
"Bareknuckle".
About a month after my Nessuno frame web page went up, someone called my
attention to another dealer's Bareknuckle listing which suggested these
frames are fabricated in Taiwan. Since my understanding all through the
months leading to the actual arrival of the frames in the US was that they were made in or
around Venezia, Italy, I contacted Euro-Asia for confirmation. To my question "Just
for clarification: where (country) are Bareknuckle frames fabricated?",
their reply was simply "This project is 100% Italian".
You can get a Bareknuckle just about anywhere, but NESSUNO is available
_exclusively_ at Business Cycles. Wouldn't you really rather have a genuine
NESSUNO?
