Two people have presumed that the 'perps' are illegal immigrants. Quote the article where it says anything that describes them as such. Perhaps that they are driving in a truck?

Santa Cruz county is not Disneyland, nor is anywhere else in California. Surrounding Santa Cruz itself is some of the richest farmland in the country, where all your high dollar berries, artichokes, and fancy-pants luxury foods come from. it's all picked by latino hands, so remember that next time you pop a Driscoll's strawberry in your mouth.

Pretty screwed up that cops will not give the public the descriptions of such scum.
Be it the complainant or the police it still is key. I'm telling you these two parties know each other and so does the wit. The absence of information is more often due to the police not wanting an escalation of a relatively minor incident. Now before any of the sidewalk attorneys start to slam the "minor" inference, it is relatively minor compared to what can and does happen. I don't personally consider weapons incidents as minor, but when you are up to your tail in alligators it's kind of hard to remember you were only there to drain the swamp.
