Why you should wear your helmet

This is just amazing. I heard this story on our local radio station this morning and just had to pass it along.

Chris

Man hit son on head with board, complaint says

Waukesha - A felony child abuse charge was issued Tuesday against a village of Pewaukee man accused of hitting his son in the head with a board.

The criminal complaint says that the 42-year-old man struck his 9-year-old son with the board on Aug. 1. The boy told police that his father raised the board above his head with both hands before slamming it down on his son's head, according to the complaint.

The father told police he did so to teach his son a lesson for not wearing a helmet while riding his bicycle, the complaint says, explaining he wanted the boy to feel how painful it would be if he hit his head.

The father is not being identified to protect his son.

That father's an example of a good idea, poorly executed.

Why are some people so devoid of parenting skills?

The 9 year old should have a couple of burly cops throw his dad through the windshield of the father's car for a similar safety lesson.
