what's the whole story? why was your truck stopped? why were you taping that guy in particular? why, after he passed, did you pursue him?

Not enough facts but here's what I think...

1: Why was the truck stopped in the street and already taping the cyclist at the point we see it from? Had the truck harassed said cyclist then stopped and began the clip there to claim innocence? (Seems highly likely in my mind).

2: Passenger can be heard telling the driver to go, driver doesn't.. adding even more questions as to what the truck was doing beforehand.

3: Why was the cyclist already perturbed that he went after the truck upon catching up to it, despite the fact he apologizes I'd bet something did happen there...

So OP, if your the video originator why is it missing so much and your not saying anything? I'd bet it was a setup.

This might provide a lesson for those who expect law enforcement agencies (or anybody else) to take at face value every traffic video submitted by would-be Junior G-men cyclists.

There's something sketchy about this. I really don't trust whoever filmed it.

I'm sure you remember the recent police baiting videos on A&S by a now banned poster; cyclists crying wolf videos probably do more harm than good for cycling advocacy.

Given the tone of the cyclists comments after the initial altercation (which I seem to have missed) it seems it's just a case of simple video paranoia.

Who knows why the truck passenger was filming, or why the cyclist went off, but it just shows that we live in a crazy society. I for one don't like to be filmed or photographed, but it's not something to get worked up over.

Considering how the driver was waiting for the cyclist to catch up and then go, while the passenger aimed the camera out the window at the cyclist, the cyclist may have thought it was a set up for a beer bottle toss or paint gun video.

Seems the cyclist would have been better off just stopping and taking a picture of the truck and noted the reaction to that.

I had a similar type of reaction from a motorist who observed me writing down their license number, after having two incidents with the same motorist, and with the incidents only being several minutes apart.

I resorted to videoing several weeks after the verbal altercation with the motorist, and my videoing is kept low key, with the cameras blending in with my bike as much as possible.
