A friend of mine who I sent that to says it's old but I haven't seen it before. I'm not sure how you'd stop, though. Maybe take the arms and angle them together like you do when you're skiing?

The Moral of that story... gear down greenhorn (my first 2 weeks trucking)...waaaaaay down. Not one gear, not two gears, not even three or 4. 5 is the right number of gears for a fully loaded truck with no engine brake. And we are only talking a 9-spd here. One or two gears lower than the gear you can climb in. Ah youth and inexperience. It's a wonder any of us survive.

Oh yeah, with a full load of paper. They have these nifty signs that tell truckers when to speed up and when to brake but it was the middle of the night, I was late, I was tired, it didn't seem all that steep and anyway I didn't need no stinking warning signs that is until I started getting that funny smell. Turns out I was laying down a smoke screen. It's been over 10 years but it is still fresh in my fading memory. A guy behind me said at one point that I had flame but I guess it blew out. There wasn't anything I could do about it anyway. I didn't need that lesson twice and it never happened again. Glad that part of my life is over as it was the hardest work I've ever done in my life. Those drivers that deliver our stuff don't get paid near enough.

Yeah, those suits are for sale. The guy who builds/rolls them is a genius, and really badass. Actually pretty cheap, if you have the money. Only $2,000 I think.

I hit youtube and searched for rollersuit to find some more videos. Looks like the ones on the back are shopping cart casters (front wheels).
I had an experience kind of like oldfool where I had 4 people in my beater Escort coming home (to KC) from Vegas via Denver. I just figured I would coast down the mountain. Then, it started getting dicey and my little 1.9L engine couldn't even provide enough engine brake power for my overloaded grocery-getter. When we got to a gas station, I could see orange shadows on the pavement, which ended up being red-hot rotors glowing through my wheels.

It was absolutely amazing how straight and stable he could track on the straights and the amount of bite he could get when going into corners. It looked like a huge magnet suddenly pulled him into the corner.
