I just bought a 'Hyper' men's beach cruiser for two reasons, It was blue and most of all Aluminum for $79
Was on sale for $99 but was missing the chain guard.
The steel ones were just too heavy.
This aluminum bike before I took off both fenders and put on much lighter pedals was 32 pounds and the other steel bike I weighed was 39 pounds and had no fenders.
And since Its a walmart bike It needs something upgraded/fixed as the rear hub is total trash.
I need a better coaster brake hub and would very much like to find a complete rear wheel in black, 26" and
with a three speed coaster brake hub with shifter and cable.

Anybody see that online at a reputable dealer ?

It dos not have to be black to match the front, This bike will be my hippie bike.

For what It's worth, the bike rides like a dream other than the rear hub crunching along,
Yes I adjusted it, also the retainer ring that holds the gear cog in keeps popping out when I stand to pedal,
then I am without brakes.

You might have a problem. Three speed hubs are usually wider than single speed hubs. And since your frame is aluminum, flexing it outward to fit a wider hub is a big no-no.

Ok then, all I need to find Is a Good quality single speed with a coaster brake hub or better, a complete wheel.

I'll let you do the research and shopping, but my advice is only buy a wheel built with a Shimano CB-E110 hub.

You can get the hubs separately everywhere, inexpensively. But unless you can build wheels, the price goes way up to have a shop assemble everything and true it up.

My Local bike shop has ordered for me a rear wheel with a Shimano CB-E110 hub, $79 plus sales tax Installed.
It comes with a black rim.
My current rear cog Is 16T the new wheel has a 18T. A little easier spin up from a stop.

Got everything you wanted. Win.

I got some Pictures but still waiting on the better rear hub so my rides are too the pool and back.
As long as I pedal easy the rear sprocket retainer ring stays on.

Glad I am staying single speed and coaster brake, keeping the kick stand.
This bike Is dead silent and coasts forever.

Those handlebars have a very unique bend. Cool blue too.

Love that color. Is the bend in the seat tube a trademark for the Hyper cruiser frames?

The bend, feels ok and makes standing up to pedal easy.
The Color, In person It's a bit darker, I notice all my cell phone shots seem to change the hue of many colors just a tiny bit.
I don't like the chain guard mounts sticking up.

I've never ridden a true, 'Crank Forward' design but always thought If you tried to push any watts Into the pedals your knee's would take a beating and standing would not work. So from what I can see a true crank forward would need gears. I really don't know anything about the Hyper brand other than they make BMX bikes.
Do take a look because they did show a bike like mine except with a belt drive, no chain to oil.

That seat tube bend, makes the bike fit rider's like the old bikes of 30,40,50 years ago without such a long frame that would be heavier
and cost more to make. Being shorter may be why this frame feels so good, especially when turning.
The way this bike rides was a total surprise, but for all I know they are all like this.

Remember this bike came from Walmart, was horribly assembled, missing a chain guard, Had a useless rear coaster brake hub and had blemishes. If It would have been complete I still would have paid $100 for it because of the Aluminum frame alone.

Kinda redundant, no?

Walmart is probably one of the best places to find creatively assembled bikes, especially if you want to see 180° forks.

Time to whip out the grinder and files.

Aluminum, should be easy to loose the chain guard mounts, front and rear ya think ?

4.5 inch grinders are my favorite tool. With one in hand the neighbors pull their children close, my hound dogs howl, my sons run to guard their metal belongings and the Warden looks for the healthcare plan card needed for my ER visits. Thanks, Squid, I have 2 cruisers needing chainguard hangers ground. Maybe I can find other parts to thin out to save weight.

At your service sir. Mine have had chain guard brackets on the chain stay as well as the bottom bracket shell. Look for fender mounting brackets. Unsightly and good for at least 25 grams.

Got my wheel with the Shimano CB-E110 hub like you recommended and the 18 tooth gear.
I did not know such a smooth rolling hub mounted on a very solid well built wheel with such
a powerful coaster brake existed for so little money. It rides and stops really nice.

The rim Is narrower compared to the front but I felt no disadvantage.
The two extra teeth on the gear gave me exactly what I wanted when starting out
and a far more comfortable spin at the leisurely speeds I intend to ride.
Installed with a new chain to fit the extra cog teeth, $90, more than the bike cost ha!
My bike shop gave me a small 1 ounce bottle of, 'BOESHIELD T-9',
They said It would noticeably help prevent corrosion In the sea side conditions the bike will be used In.
Told me there Is nothing better, a full size spray can costs $25,
Told me my 1 ounce bottle should last a while. Time will tell on this unknown product.

Boeshield T-9 is the real deal. I started using it on our dirt bikes and bicycles a year ago. The stuff doesn't breakdown, evaporate, or sling off nearly as quickly as other lubes. It's a an excellent cable lubricant. Not sure I'd use it as a chain lube in a sandy area, tho.

That hub sounds like a great upgrade.

Ride report on a beach cruiser ? Is that even done ?

My daily 'when possible' workout rides are about 10 miles at an average speed
of 11 mph and I spin out at 17.7 all per Strava.
The gearing Is fine (18T-44T) but I must remember not to mash hard without first standing
when I need to get moving fast. The ride position is not kind to my knee's when I need big watts
while sitting but ok as I get a good spin going.
The handling Is nice at any and all speeds and the bike likes to stay around 9,10 mph.

I know better to compare this bike with my Trek Cross Rip 3 but I must say, Is nice to
put on tennis shoes and go without having to prep myself with Lycra, gloves, Jersey and clipping in.

I'm glad I got this bike and cant wait to get back to the Single track rides on my moutain bike.
This Hurricane business closed all my trails for the time being.

I need somebody to talk me OUT of putting knobbie tires on this bike and a 22T on the back wheel
and then taking It to the trails..
