Electra Townie

Is the Electra Townie really a beach cruiser? I am not sure. Electra does sell Beach Cruisers. What are your thoughts?

IMO, the Townie frame, tires, etc. are close enough to Electra's non-cantilever Cruiser line that all the Townie lacks is a bright flashy paint job.

EDIT: By the way, I was thinking of the single chain ring "Original" line of Townies with the longer frame. Not sure which one you have.

I think I'll call the Townie a northern coast beach cruiser. As in beaches found in Washington or Maine.

Sixthreezero EvryJourney 7 speed

Going to add bullhorn bars to the Townie. I currently like the Sixthreezero a little better for cruising.

Looks like a "stealth" cruiser. Nice.

A stealth cruiser with front suspension. Excellent.

I would definitely call a Townie a "Beach Cruiser" style bike.

Given the name 'Townie', I'd say it's more of an urban bike.

How annoying was assembling the Every Journey? I am considering both of these bikes.

Looking back, I love both bike. After a few months of ownership, I prefer the Townie, better quality but expensive boutique brand. When I got my sixthreezero EvryJourney 7 spd, I had a mobile bike shop assemble my bike. It cost about $85 and I get free adjustments. You might consider getting a used Townie then get it tuned up at your Local Bicycle Shop. 3, 7 speed bikes are more expensive than the 21 speed bike. The 7 speed is a good all around bike, but the 21 speed has more hill climbing capabilities. I got my townie on craigslist. I love both of them for different reasons. Good luck to you.
