In the past they had issues but it seems like they have taken care of things. Not exceptional bikes but functional and certainly better than some other similar sort of wannabe stuff with even lower end components. However if it has an IGH and was made in the past 5 years or so it should have a belt drive from Gates. I get an IGH for low maintenance so why are you giving me a chain that I have to maintain and replace more often?
Brooklyn folks are pretty easy to deal with as well so you should be able to have fun on your bike and get support when needed which is great. I do wish they would do a step through 9 speed equipped bike with the swept back bars they use on the Lorimer.

Personally, I like the look of a metal chain better.
I understand they are more maintenance but, on a retro bike, love how my chain looks- reminds me of bikes when I was a kid… the good old days. The IGH is a little chatty on the highest gear (3) but I heard that was normal?
Their customer service has been spot on already- they will chat almost 24/7.
Thanks for the reply.
Bike safe,
Sean

Yah, that Franklin is OK with a 3 speed. They have a nice useful chain cover. If the hub ever craps out, replace it with a SA 3 with drum brake.
DeFaileurs on any of those bikes is laughable, 6 of 9 have them. Willow has a Shimano disc 7i for $1,100.
Looks like they are going downhill. Most of the bikes are $200 discount. Plus they all now have a lame short MTB kind of bar with maybe 15d sweep.
I've seen some Driggs bikes around with a 3 speed. They gave up selling a 7i to men. LOL.
But hey, even Linus is selling layzboy e-junk. LOL.

Their discounted bikes are a few of the older models that they are trying to clear space for- if you notice, they are very limited in color, size, and model. Additionally, some (like the F3) are an older model with different parts. Others are returns that have scratches etc.

I'm in Long Island, so our area's where we ride may not overlap. I was going to suggest Greenwood Cemetery, but it looks like bikes are not allowed there @BrooklynRangers .

Greenwood would be a beautiful/perfect spot!
I still don’t trust drivers here in Brooklyn (or pedestrians) enough to feel totally safe while I ride.
on the bright side, the city has made tons of improvements in that area over the last 30 years. I remember a time when it would have been suicide - the only people riding a bike in the city were the chinese delivery guys and they were nuts!

My new bike. As promised!
