Need a men's 3-speed cruiser recommendation
So I am a cyclist and can't ride my road bike to things like bar hopping, checking out shows or just cruising the town with my girl. Looking for an inexpensive (under $250 ideally) 3-speed cruiser.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I've looked at that bike as well and it's retail price is $399 which is a bit more than I am willing to spend at this time.

Here's 300 and you still have to get it put together competently:
Save up to 60% OFF Mango Macaw 1 Speed Cruisers from bikesdirect.com (link text is wrong, page is 3-speed)
they also have a comfort bike 3-speed for 300 and a city bike 3-speed for 350(much the most practical bike)
this also for about 3 some assembly required:

On the used market, it all depends on what you're wishing to deal with. Is single speed ok?
Does it need to be a "beach cruiser"? Internal gearing? Or would a 5-speed be ok?
There are lots of old English 3-Speed bikes for under $100. I just saw a 1-speed balloon tire "beach cruiser" at St. Vincent de Paul's yesterday for $70, I think. And Monday, I picked up a used 7 speed internal gear "cruiser" for just under $100. The paint needs a little touching up, but otherwise it was in good condition.
Just keep your eyes open to see what pops up on Craigslist.

Only difference would be the rear hub , and you can always buy a new wheel for the one you find..

It's been a while since I have looekd at their prices but Fuji makes a number of 3 speed bikes with the internal hub. The one that comes to mind is the Sanibel LX is what they used to call it. it is similar to the single speed version which is called the Sanibel, but the Sanibel LX is aluminum and a great comfortable ride.

Do what I did on my wife's bike. She wanted a 3 sp but didn't want to spend money on a new bike. My solution to the problem? Have the bike shop replace the rear wheel hub with a 3sp hb. Cost about $60 (at the time) and she got the exact bike that makes her happy.
Simply put...find(or buy) a bike you like/have and change it over to a 3sp. (3 speed hubs at the cheapest of the lot)

There is also a 3-speed Huffy Regatta (in both gender frame styles) available on Walmart.com for under $200. It would still need to be looked over/assembled by someone competent, and then later down the road if you find other components lacking in quality, you could still say you saved on the initial cost of finding out whether you really liked a 3-speed or not.

Not cruiser style-wise, but I'll second the used Raleigh Sports 3 spd.-- a lot of them made, a lot of them still around. A few mechanical oddities, but they're well documented, and a great ride for short, around town jaunts.

Fool Proof 3 Speed
Used is the way to go. Even if you just find a cheap bike that has the Shimano Nexus 3 speed hub and shifter you can take it off and turn just about any single speed into a 3 speed the possibilities are endless. The old Sturmey Archer 3 speeds don't hold a candle to the Shimano in my opinion. This is mine.
