Should Campy cables be replaced with Campy cables?
I have a campy 8 speed group. I'm replacing the original HB stem with an H20 angled stem. The original campy cables are in great shape but they will not be long enough for the new stem. Do I replace with Camp cables ( expensive) or will generic cables work just as well?

D - Shimano
E - Campagnolo
Use 5mm shift housing.

Bikes: too many sparkly Italians, some sweet Americans and a couple interesting Japanese
I can't tell if Campy is any better than any smooth SS cable (that fits) but can tell they cost too much unless you stumble on a sale.

As mentioned above, Campy cables have smaller end fittings than Shimano compatible ones. This is particularly true for shift cables and to a lesser extent for brake cables so be sure the cables are Campy compatible if not genuine Campy. Jagwire cables are great and there are "universal" shift cables with a fitting at each end, one Shimano, one Campy, and you cut off the unneeded one.
I've used both genuine Campy shift cables and Jagwire's compatible ones and the bike never knew the difference but my credit card did.

I haven't had much of a problem with "Shimano" brake cables jamming in my Campy levers but you MUST use Campy style shift cables or they WILL jam and be almost impossible to get out. When I did this I had to take the lever apart and almost broke it trying to get the cable out.
I would not bother with "genuine Campagnolo" cables. Lots of people make good cables with the Campy head.
