cables for campy ergo 9 speed?

I am building an RB1 with first gen 9 speed ergos. The donor bike came to me with what appears to be cheap no name shift and brake cables. The system shifts as is, but rather underwhelmingly. Are these old 9 speed systems best mated with campy cables? If I can go non campy what do you all recommend? these are my first integrated shifters, so I have never needed anything more than basic jagwire.

Thanks,
Ant

You can use Shimano specific cables, but you'll need to file the "head" smaller.

Here you can see the slight size difference between the brake cable ends.

Thanks, Colonel. I'll get the campy stuff.

Jagwire makes Campy specific cables. That's what I use.
