Before every ride. That way you get used to how much loss to expect. If it is more than usual, start looking for punctures. Much easier to find and fix punctures at home.

700x25 road bike I pump every other day, thumb check on the in between days. I clean chain with chlorox wipes after every ride and wipe down tires and check for embedded debris or wear after every ride.

On the pump days I'm usually at 90, if I see something oddball there the school of hard knocks has taught me to not simply air up and ride away from home. Did that once on the hybrid.....never again :-). That was my only on road flat so far in 4000 miles, it was soft on the pre ride check, which was totally out of the ordinary. Tube was a little big for the tire size and it got bunched up in there and rubbed a hole in itself.

I also use talc now when I put tires on, and prefer tubes on the small side if I need to choose.

I pump up every weekend in prep for the next week's commute. This works for me because I use 35mm tires and have found them to drop into the low 60 psi range (my lower limit) by the end of the week. There are so many variables that no schedule for one bike will be right for others.

Road bike - after a ride, I let a little pressure out (had blowout on a hot day sitting in the garage years ago). Then before a ride, I bring them back up to where I want them for the ride. Pinch flats are the one thing you can insure against with PSIs, so I do that.

Cruiser - when they look low. Every month or so.

every time I ride. Sooner or later you develop a slow leak and there seems to be a certain amount of leakage even from new tubes. I like to keep the right pressure when i ride especially to avoid pinch flats.

Not often enough… I am a fair beggar for letting my tyres get below the 35psi minimum out of laziness. It's usually when I notice I'm bouncing over the bumps that I think: "I should pump my tyres up!"

Varies with tire size; 3-days to weekly.

Schwalbe tubes have doubled the time between pressure checks/adjustments.
