Rear Brake On Carbon Frame

I have a carbon frame and the rear brake bridge is 30 mm thick excluding the countersink. The Campy Dual Pivot mount is only about 20 mm long.

I remember dealing with this before but I can't remember what I did. Is there a mount bolt replacement that is longer or a countersink nut that is longer? And where do you get whichever it is? I looked at a new set of Skeleton brakes and they also had the short mount as used in steel frames etc.

There are several sizes of mount bolts. Find the correct one. It needs to be longer. Roger

You need a longer nut (the bolt is part of the brake and not changeable cheaply). Often there's a gap between the short ones made for the rear and shortest one for forks, so you might need the services of a hacksaw.

Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Wheels Manufacturing offers recessed brake nuts in lengths from 19 to 35 mm so one of those should work: Wheels Manufacturing Brake Nut

If you are between sizes, a hacksaw will make it work.

Thanks Guys. I ordered the extended nut from Wheels Manufacturing along with some 4 mm shift cable ends which I haven't found anywhere else.
