Norco Valence CAble Routing
Hi!
A road bike arrived yesterday at my workshop, as the name of this post specifies, it's a Norco Valence. What intrigues me the most about this bike is the cable outer casing since the ones for the rear derrailleur cable and back brake go all the way from the duals to the respective mech.
Is this really the way to go?
I cut the outer casings to the point where they are exactly the lenght they have to be until they reach the "gizmo" thingy and then leave the cable "naked" until it goes out of the frame.
I like every cable to be the lenght it has to be and not a centimeter longer or shorter.
Also the cable guide and the bottom bracket shell seems to be there just because...
Does anybody has pictures of a Norco properly serviced? This is killing me! I don't like to leave things as they are just because they are that way, it has to be right!
HELP!
xD

Edit: found the Gizmo page - https://www.norco.com/tech/road/gizmo/ looks like a fancy bushing, I suppose Norco could adapt it to a stop but I don't see any indication that they've done so.

my "gizmo" thing has a stop on the outside, the housing is only outside the frame. The cables inside the frame are bare. Ive never seen a setup that has the housing inside the frame.
My bare cable exits the downtube just before the bottom bracket and then feeds through the BB cable guide, then back into the chainstay almost immediately. Your cable guide is probably supposed to be used similarly.

Full length cable housings are fairly common on mountain bikes, which is the majority of Norco's line. Any disc brake bike will be setup to use full length brake housing to run hydraulics.

hi guys, sorry for bringing that back to life, but i got stuck in the gizmo stuff...
one of the 4 plugs has a smaller exit hole (the part that is facing inside the frame) and i don t know if the plug is for the front or the rear derailleur. help?... please ?
IMAG2187.jpg
also, the cables that are pasing just below the cable guide (rear derailleur and rear brake) seem to rub directly on the frame's carbon insides - any danger of cutting it after some time? i am thinking of taping same aluminium shims/whatever or just using fully sealed cables...

thank you for your time.

Yeesh! That last pic is all kinds of wrong. Yes, the cables will cut into the frame.
You're missing the cable guide; it's meant to sit in that trapezoidal recess. It comes off to facilitate cable routing, but you need to put it back before you finish.
I'm tipping the plug with the small hole is the cable stop for the RD loop, and belongs in the chainstay. The one with the big hole is a mystery. For a hydro brake?

i have the cable guide, but i removed it to see how the cables were intersecting inside (i put a light on the headtube side). anyway, the cable guide ha sonly guides for FD , the cables for rd and rear break are meant to be "under".
judging to the pictures of finished bikes, the largest hole (on outside, on inside is the smallest one) is for fd, the 2 middle sized holes plugs are for rear brake and the smallest one is for the rd.
the interesting part is that the cable housing for the rear brake could pas thru the plug (with a little effort), which is confusing me regarding the using of full length cable casing...
i'll see when i'll get all the parts shipped... until then , my canyon ultimate will do...
