Need info on chain type
I need a chain for my vintage build-- I'm using a Suntour Perfect 6 speed freewheel and Suntour Seven derailleurs. Crankset is a SR Royal 52/45. Do I need just a standard 1/2 x 3/32 chain? 114 links? I see all kinds of chains out there.
Any recommendations for a chain?
Thanks

The chain you describe will be fine. (Chains are also designated as 6-7 speed. 8-9 speed, etc., but your bike takes a 3/32.) You will also need a chain breaker tool and some kind of quick link or master link. If it's a Shimano chain, you need one of their master pins. These connecting devices vary according to the make and width of the chain. Many chains come with the appropriate repair link. There are special tools for opening and closing these links, but I have successfully used various no-tool tricks described on the internet.

I like SRAM PC-850 myself. Good longevity for the buck.
