Bent crank or spindle?
Hey folks,
I had a strange wobble sensation on my non-drive side pedal so I swapped out the pedals and luckily saw a major difference! However, there is still a minute amount of wobbling, as if my pedals were not the only thing bent. Drive side felt fine before and after the new pedals. Is there a good way to troubleshoot? I know the crank is more than likely the problem over the BB spindle but I'd like to know for sure.

With the NDS pedal removed, rotate the spindle and watch for eccentric movement. The spindle is probably hardened steel and is unlikely to be damaged.
Edit: You swapped pedals, but did you check the crank arm? That's the most likely thing to bend.

Well, if changing the pedal changes the problem it would seem reasonable to assume that the majority of the problem is the pedal. If the crank has a flat pedal mounting surface you could remove the pedal and place a level vertically against the crank and see if its angle changes as you rotate the crank 180 degrees. This would not diagnose a mounting hole which is not perpendicular to the crank spindle, but might indicate if the crank arm is bent.

Sometimes rotating the crank on the spindle will result in one position being more perpendicular than the others. If you mark where you feel a low or high spot on the spindle, and after rotating the crank arm on the spindle the point at which it happens is the same then you know it's the spindle.
