Looks like 3x (which would probably be their "default" for 32 spoke).

I see 2 crosses , but as a 32 spoke it is possible that there is another cross right at the Hub

which is the spoke on the opposite side of the hub flange headed to the opposite side of the rim.

It's 4 cross in a 36 spoke wheel 5 cross in a 48 spoke .

I have 32 spoke wheels of both 2x & 3x patterns.

It's hard to tell (the photo resolution isn't great zoomed in) but I think I can see a crossing immediately at the flange.

And to extrapolate this thread some- There are very valid reasons why 3x and 4x have been the most common cross numbers for over 100 years. (When dealing with 20"-27" wheels which includes the stupidly named 29ers) Andy.

Looks 3x to me. I bought these exact wheels except with Ultegra hubs from Velomine and they were 3x, which doesnt necessarily meen anything, but 3x semes to be the default for 32h and 36h wheels on velomine.

No, the spokes are too tangential at the hub for it to be 2-cross. The third cross is just too close to the flange to see in that rather low-resolution picture.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

+1
it's very clearly 3x. Rather than look for crosses which may be hard to see, look at the line of the spokes and you'll see that it's 3x.

3x

Look at crossed pairs and count spokes. 11 spokes (inclusive) at the rim between crossed pairs ==> 3x

If it was 2x, then there would only be 7 spokes (inclusive) at the rim between the crossed pairs.

Not a bad price for the wheelset.
