Is old shimano atlus a10 derailler compatibal with new shimano shifter?
hi, i have an old cannondale mtb, and the shiftier doesn't work on it. the derailleur works though. can i just buy a new shiftier for like $30, and not buy a new derailleur too, and just install the shiftier?

Match the speed, and it will work fine.
You only get into compatibility issues with 10/11 speed, your Atlus A10 will be 7 speed, so if looking at current parts, a 7 speed EF-51 shifter/brake lever combo, or M310 (7 speed) RapidFire+ pods if your brake levers are separate. Or look for NOS 7 speed shifters/combo (STI) units.
