Triple front or Compact front?

I am thinking of converting my triple setup to a compact. Can I still use the triple front derailleir or do I need to get a new compact specific front derailleur? Looks like the triple should be able to handle the tooth difference, but was wondering about the shifting performance. Currently running Campagnolo Racing T drivetrain.

Apparently you will need a compact specific one. Tragic.

The difference is that the compact has the outside plate height of a double, but a steeper curve to it, where the rest of the mech looks like a triple.
