Rebuilding an old Superbe RD
I have an old Superbe and I decided to rebuild it. What would be better for the tension spring? Oil, like Phils Tenacious Oil, or a grease?

...I guess a lot of this is personal preference, but I don't use oil or grease on the more exposed parts of a derailleur, like the spring. It attracts and holds dust and dirt. It's dry here a good part of the year, so I just spray the whole thing with one of those teflon dry lubes you can buy at Home Depot or hardware stores. I do grease the interior of the pulleys, where the bushings rotate on their pins.
And I'm a fan of using Triflow on that interior tension spring if you are riding in a lot of wet weather.

I generally use whatever grease is at hand (usually Phil or Park) when rebuilding der pivots or pulleys. Andy.
