Sourcing a Continental belt?

Not sure where else to put this question, please forgive me if it's not the right spot.

I'm looking at a very affordable Canyon Commuter with a Continental CDS belt system, which uses a proprietary CDS 1260 belt. But I can't find a seller anywhere for the belts! The value of the bike drops significantly if I can't actually find a replacement belt in the event of a failure. I asked a Canyon rep who referred me to Bike Parts, but they only seem to carry Gates belts.

Anyone know where to get them?

Not yet. I sent an email, though. Waiting on response. Just thought I'd check with the forum too, speed things along. If they're accessible, I can make the bike order tomorrow. If not, then something else.

Appears Conti-Drive is in very early release on bikes, but apparently Trek will have a bike with this setup shortly,
so Trek dealers may be a source. Belt availability may be become greater in 2017. If the CDS is anything like
the Gates belt you can expect in excess of 20k miles service from the belt. What kind of dealer network does
Canyon have in Japan? They appear to be very (extremely) sparse in the US.

Thanks for the info--the most I found was trade show videos from mid-2015, so I assumed it had released last year. Maybe they were just previewing the new tech then. Depending on what I hear from Canyon, I'll may just order it.

I have yet to find a Canyon dealer in Japan, but I haven't searched extensively outside Shikoku. I wasn't aware that Canyon had any dealers as such--their website highlights their direct-to-consumer model. I couldn't even find a ship-to-US option, though. I was pleasantly surprised that they ship to Japan, since so many other companies seem to have a Japanese division or a smaller presence here. For example, I went looking for Raleigh and found Araya-Raleigh, but they only do classically-styled steel frames.

Canyon is a German bike seller that sold only directly at their company headquarters store or by internet until very recently. They are now setting up a dealer network in the US but it's still in progress. You may get some help by e-mailing Canyon in Germany: https://www.canyon.com/en/

Thanks, I emailed both Continental and Canyon. Canyon has a live chat feature too, but it doesn't seem to work well. I was able to talk for about five minutes with a rep after trying to connect for two hours, only to be cut off when she just stopped responding to me. Haven't been able to connect again since then.
