Sram Shifter

I got some new parts for my bike. Switching to Sram Apex groupset. My right shifter doesn't align with brake lever as seen in photo. Is this normal? Should I send it back for a replacement? Thanks

Shifter paddle does not align with brake lever. It doesn't sit flush. My left one does.

Doesn't Sram shifter have adjustment to change the shifter and brake lever position independently?

It does, but it doesn't fix the problem.

Have you threaded a cable through it yet and put some tension on the cable? It might make the lever return all the way.

I have the SRAM Apex group also. Both shifter paddles are slightly inset from the edge of the brake lever - the right (rear) shifter paddle a tad more inward than the left (front) shifter paddle.

I didn't run cable thru it yet. I plan on doing that tonight. I saw a lot of sram shifters that have paddle in some, so I guess its common and doesn't hurt anything.

Based on my experience (roughly 3000 miles so far with these shifters), your shifters are good to go. Happy biking.
